Moon Perception

by Syrus   Nov 1, 2008

He stepped out into the cold winter night and stared up at the clear sky
He saw the moon and asked how she was,
He asked if she still loved him, still thought of him
Wished for him to be there to cheer her up
He wanted her to know she was still on his mind
If she was still doing alright

The moon replied saying Ive heard her crying out in the late hours
Wishing to be held together and asking for answers
I've listened as her heart comes undone and as she just pleads for things to go right
For once in her miserable life

She stepped out into the mid summers night and stared at the sky
She saw the moon and asked how he was doing
She asked if he still loved her, still thought about her
Wishing for her to be there when he felt out of place
She wanted to know if she was still on his mind
If he was alright without her

The moon replied saying I've been listening to him pour his heart out
He stays up late and cries for you alone night after night
Wishing to be held as he begs on his knees all he asks is for things to go right
For once in his miserable life
