Waltzes In Antarctica

by StandStill   Nov 2, 2008

Your hands shake because I am holding you
and all you really want is for me
to let you go...leave.
But that's alright, I've never been obedient anyway.

All it is, really, is just a shoulder-
a cold one at that, that you've turned towards me.
It's alright though, I'll just inhale all of your ice and
warm it with my life. (Dying doesn't bother me.)

It's just another rabbit hole-
we're falling down down down
into a pool of ice where you and I
will freeze and leave behind our everything.

I wish I could scream about how much
I really love this waltz we're dancing..
twirling 'round and 'round the subject
but looking grand as we do it.

And it seems like the phone's always ringing
but only when it's never you.
We could take these car keys and run,
but that'd be far too simple.

How about we just stay here, love,
in this small stand off. Together,
we can wait for these icewalls to break...
Together, we can wait for never.

I'll hold your hand, darling,
as you scream at me to let you go.
Let's close our eyes and wish it all away
because I don't want any of this to be real.

let's pretend we're in antarctica..."
