Lest we Remember (Rememberance Day)

by Slowly I Disappear   Nov 13, 2008

Lest we remember
On the day they had died
As we wear blood flowers
With hands at our sides

Lest we remember
The lives that they gave
As we pray for their souls
As they rest in their graves

Lest we remember
The soliders who fought
Those that perished
And the lessons they taught

Lest we remember
The price that they paid
To ensure us our safety
To give freedom an aid

Lest we remember
How many are gone
How much freedom cost
As the result of courage lives on

Lest we remember
On the day for the dead
Lest we remember
As we wear poppies for them.

Written very well, until the last verse, where there is no rhyming scheme. I recommend changing the last line to "as we wear poppies of red" or something like that.
