Awakened Awareness

by Jemma   Nov 20, 2008

I have come woefully unprepared for this mighty feasting upon my soul
I saw your eyes first and bent to quiver as my heart raced as it shivered
So cold, just like ice
A frozen citadel caged in paradise
You've freed your liberty
But at a price
They're beams of darkness shuttering this light
I heard my name and wrestled with my inner self
Would I want to know the manner of which you spoke?
I sensed the grin, shrouded in the night
I felt your face, the shadow of sanctified sin
I breathed aloud and it crumbled into the room
The smallest hitch a roar that came too soon
I heard an echo, so softly betraying the sight I had felt true
Just like your lips that gently blew
I came so woefully unprepared for this feast upon my soul
I saw you first but you wouldn't let me go
I shiver still, though your eyes have found some heat
And the fortress of stone now has me quaking upon my feet
Because it is falling, collapsing to the sea
And with it gone I see only you
And you are looking back at me

I feel like this sometimes. I just think you have a better way of expressing it. 5/5
