Screaming Pain

by Rowena Smith   Nov 28, 2008

The crushing of the truck
The screaming of pain
Dying in my ear
The numbness that spreads
The swirling blood
And floating bits of bones
The screaming of pain
Within my ear
As the blackness creeps up
My brain wavers
As I fight unconsciousness
The scurrying of people
As they rush about
Oblivious to the pain I am in
The truck removed
And the pain is severe
No more can I fight
Slowly I sink into the darkness
Many hours later
I wake upon a bed
The pain has gone
And so has a leg
Tears trickle down my face
For my life has changed

**This poem is for my dad who lost his leg to an idiot truck driver who decided to reverse out when dad was passing on his Harley Davidson!
