New

by kristen   Dec 14, 2008

Wrapped in blankets with a pink little cap.

They all stared in at a baby in her lap.

It stretched it's fragile mouth into a yawn.

Rubbed her little eyes and conciousness was gone.

What a sweet day the parents will share.

With many more days to love and care.

She looked up into the fathers eyes.

A face of terror there with silent cries.

The new daddy doesn't know a thing.

Nothing about babies and the things they bring.

But he looks at the little child with pure joy.

He couldn't care less that he didn't get his boy.

This is their moment

It is sweet

scary

painful

love

innocent

and it's

new.

it's what I've began to look forward to.

Just that kids were something I never thought I would want someday. but now that i've seen my nephew come into the world I've kind of desired the same thing for myself someday far far away even though the desire is weak and new it is a possibility for me now.
