His eyes hold my galaxy

by Maddy   Dec 20, 2008

I stare into the face of my lover,
Engraving every aspect into my memory.
Take one look closer, what else is there to see?
A nose, a mouth, but then something more.

Peer intensely at his eyes,
Look deeply into their depths.
Not average eyes are these,
Not normal, put a kind of trance on me.

He holds the colors of the galaxy.
The Milky Way, stardust reflecting light.
Saturn is visible, a foggy halo encompassing a ball of fire.
The Earth is his pupil, projecting the colors of the world.

I will never find another pair of eyes such as his,
Nor will I find a mind so bright, or a heart so true.
But it is time for us to be separated for now,
Hopefully one day, I'll see his eyes again.

The eyes that hold my galaxy.
