Just A Delusion

by Bill Turner   Dec 22, 2008

Pain, death and war, waged deep within my soul
Life brings many changes and challenges from God
Or, do they come from our own foul intentions...
Try not to think about that one too long...
Responsibility...the demon we all must dance with
Someday...
Band playing on, waiting to be paid
How long will they play with no payment in sight?
Never getting out alive, the toll will be collected
Asleep in a blissful dream...face down in an alley
Blood surrounding the spent body...
Nothing really matters after that day
All that counts is today...what is in front of you
Past lost upon the shores of wasted time
Present swallowed up by insignificance
Future providing false hope and illusions
Life is just a delusion

    What a thought provoking poem.

All that counts is today...what is in front of you
Past lost upon the shores of wasted time

Future providing false hope and illusions
    Life is just a delusion

How true your words ring my friend.
    Take care
