Miss You

by StandStill   Dec 24, 2008

Whispers through the door frame,
watching as the Christmas snow
comes falling softly..softly...softly..down
and cold is a funny feeling.

I don't want to miss you,
but the Christmas tree's screaming your name.
Two seconds on the telephone isn't enough...
no, there's too much static anyway..

Can't write much, it ain't a letter home,
and I've got country music on my brain.
Every fizz of dr. pepper smacks of you
and your soda pop analogy.

I just miss you, and it's almost Christmas...
I know we're both trying, so
I'll just sign off with sweet dreams
and a too-far-away hug.
