Poet's Pep Talk

by PassionCourageTriumph   Dec 24, 2008

Poetic Words
Flow from my lips and
My fingertips
In rhythmic beats.
A new meaning,
Feeling,
Structure,
With each sentence.

I am a poet.
I wow my crowd with the way I can express the senses.
I capture the attention of my audience
With a silent boom,
That echos through their minds.
They are drawn to everything about my poetry.

Breaking through the shallow waters of writing
I discover the deep meaning.
The essence, depth, and fascination of life.
From the dark unexplored floor of the ocean,
To the mysterious distances of space,
And the artistry of one's mind.

"Why do you write?"
My reader may ask
I reply,
"To show that
In a world full of anger and hate
There still is a classic beauty that exists.
This exquisite pulchritude
That has been, and always will be.
The beauty that is poetry."

*Hey sorry, I just had to put a note. This poem is not supposed to sound like I am full of myself. I have had writer's block the past 3 weeks and so I decided to give myself a pep talk. While having that pep talk I figured it would be more effective if I typed it... then it went from there! :D
I swear I am not vain!
Love you all!

wow. just wow. you're right. when i read a poem i really like, it feels like it sends a shock wave straight to my emotions and hits my heart. your poem didn't exactly do this for me, but i feel like you described that feeling of reading a good poem very well. and your "pep talk" kinda worked. 'cause now i really want to read an inspirational heart felt poem. so i can feel that "Silent Boom echo through my mind."

^you should quote yourself on that

"I wow those with the way I can express the senses."

"Those" seems out of place, I think you could clean this line up a bit. The are a few other places where I think you could omit a word or two but on the whole I think you have done an excellent job, it was a very enjoyable read, nice work.

Hey you know what this poem kindda reminds me of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody
I like the way you start it off with a short rhyming poem then venture on to introducing yourself and how you explore your theme in tyour poetries then ends off with questions and your answer.I think this idea is very original of you to infuse all of this elements into 1.

    Excellent Job
    5/5
