Stop, Rewind and Pause

Another year is gone, a year that we can't get back
With New Year's resolutions, time to pick up the slack
With hopes of a happier year than the last
Our lives are flying by so incredibly fast

With each day that passes comes time we won't see again
Reminiscing about my childhood every now and then
It makes me wonder about things I have missed along the way
Did I grow up too fast and miss out on childish play?

Time needs a remote control, with a stop, rewind and pause
Then I wouldn't miss anything and I could fix my many flaws
Is it only me who fears what the future may hold?
Time moves on and it is unknown what will unfold

Even so, the future does excite me
So ill welcome this New Year gratefully
I will live each day to the fullest and love every second
Because that is the best way to be happy, I reckon

    I loved this. The only problem I had reading it was that I felt as though the last stanza didn't quite fit. Or, not necessarily fit, but flowed. You have great rhymes throughout the rest of the poem, and then you reach the last stanza and it doesn't read the same way. It was a really good poem though. 5/5 Oh, and thanks for your comment on "Souvenirs." It was greatly appreciated.

    What a great way to start the new year! Your rhyming was great and I really enjoyed reading it!I loved how you expressed your fear of the future and how as time moves on its unknown what will happen. These are truely wise words and a smart way of looking over the past as we move into the future. Happy New Year! 5/5
