Dispense of The Old

by BornAgainWriter   Jan 8, 2009

My mind is throbbing from the thoughts of you,
I can't help but think about everything we did;
Everything that we had said to each other,
But I'm throwing it away and slaming the lid.

I realized that I cannot make myself live in the past,
I can't keep harassing myself with those thoughts,
It's time for me to grab my heart and walk away,
Letting the tears turn to red falling heart blots.

There is a time in your life when you realize,
That the things you do and don't do make you; you,
The mistakes develope the person you are now,
Weeks from now you'll see how much you grew.

It's hard letting go of something you've had so long,
But in most cases it is precisely for the better,
And for me, I know that I just need to let go,
There is a new door waiting for me to enter.
