Me and the Moon

Sometimes, I like to sit out at night
and stare at the big round moon.
Sometimes, she talks to me.
Sometimes, I think I'm crazy.

Nobody wants to be sane anyway..
they're always sayin' how bad they want to be like me.
They wanna be pretty like me!
But you can't be like something that isn't like itself.
If that makes any sense at all.

I have freckles. All over
my white and tan face, and they get confused.
They get all mucked up in the mess
and so very distracted in their own being.
Sometimes I like them,
but only when I'm crazy.

I suppose I'm always crazy.

There's petals all over the dishwater,
and I'm trying to wash them down
'cause they're ruinin' my perfect moment.
Just need some more time.
Forever needin' more time.

And really, I just love to write
you poems that you'll never read,
nor ever understand.
But that's okay, 'cause you said
you liked my pretty.
You said you liked my crazy.

Sometimes I talk to the moon and she sounds like you..
