Someday This Dream Will End

Gasping for air
I open my eyes
the pain sets in
and tears fall down
every night I have this Dream
that I'm with you
and you're with me
and as we lay there on the grassy hill
Hands and arms intertwined
I turn to look at you
the one I've loved for so long
staring into your eyes
I start to wonder,
could this be real?
that I am yours and
you are mine?
as I begin to wonder
I see you slowly start to fade away
and then I'm left there all alone
only to hold air in my hand

Once I wake
and everything sets in
the pain I've felt for so long
the pain I feel every night
I know it's just a dream
and that it will never happen
that I can never be yours
and you can never be mine
I try to move on but every night
I have this dream

But someday this dream will end

    Wow...this is a heart throbbing piece. I couldn't imagine having to relieve the pain of absence everyday of my life. I love how this poem was penned with so much emotions yet with simple words.
