The Story Behind Our Eyes PT 1

by BornAgainWriter   Jan 14, 2009

We use to be so close and inseparable,
One day it all changed like the seasons,
Smiles turned into the shapes of frowns,
And words never slipped between us two.

Rock'n'Roll guitars, drums and violin strings,
Playing hard melodies throughout the days,
Echos of the roughness fills the nights air,
No matter my willingness; can't move forward.

Everything I do reminds me of just him,
Some days it upsets me- others it doesn't,
I don't flinch at the vibrations of his name,
But deep down, it pains me more and more.

High-school took it's toll on him the first year,
The friends, and the groupies he hangs with;
The peer pressure to do drugs and even girls,
And basically not to care about anything.

Nights after school, eating dinner at the table,
Usually quiet- some nights my mouth got dry;
Dry from not speaking, as if I wasn't eating,
I excused myself as an escape to go cry.

I hated it- a few nights I'd even skip dinner,
I wasn't hungry, nor was I in the mood to speak,
I wanted him back; I needed him back,
He was my brother, and my protection.
