Mercy

by Purple   Jan 19, 2009

She fell outside his door
Down on the pavement, hard
She cried out his name
No answer came from inside

Crying her had raced
Through thoughts and falling water
To reach the door before
Her tears could turn bloody

She fell outside his door
Down on the pavement, hard
She called out his name
He let her burn her time

She fell outside his door
Down on the pavement, bruised
She cried out his name
No answer came to save

No strength to stand
She tried screaming, agony
No strength to scream
She whisper for a savior

Mercy, sweet mercy, take me
Mercy, sweet mercy, save me

She fell outside his heart
Closed out of its warmth, rejected
Only a whisper came to reply
Oh sweet mercy.

Mercy, sweet mercy, take me
Whispered from outside
Mercy, sweet mercy, save me
From inside it was denied.

Mercy lets you live
By rejection you are saved
From pain of seeing further
The bruises formed within

Mercy, sweet mercy... save me.
