A million little pieces

by Samsara   Jan 21, 2009

A million little pieces
scatter onto the floor.
A million little pieces
I pick up once more.

My heart and soul,
shatter every single day.
I gather them up once more,
before I go on my way.

Of those million little pieces,
how many get left behind?
Of those million little pieces,
how many will I never find.

Each and every single day,
more and more disappear.
Closer I come
to my one single fear.

What happens on the day,
when all of it is gone.
What happens on the day,
my heart can no longer go on.

Who will be left by my side,
to lead me on the path.
Who will be by my side
to hold my broken heart.

What will I do,
if I find myself alone.
Broken and discarded,
alone and on my own.

Should I wait for that day,
which will inevitably come?
Or should I end it all now,
before the dawn of the next sun.
