The Battle

by Crippled Wing   Jan 22, 2009

Fighting for at the time you didn't know
Not knowing what you'd have to undergo
You went through your ups and downs
All around you, you could hear the horrible sounds
Clouds would darken the skies
From all your dark lies
You'd have hope for a day
Then it would fade away

This battle mostly left you soaked with blood
And at many times you would fall to the mud
But every time you about gave up, you'd see a light
Telling you to stay strong and to fight
Struggling to get on your feet
All for an enemy you didn't even know if you could defeat

Shame about killed you
The scars tell of what you've been through
Painful memories and guilt proved to be a horrible blow
As the blood from your wounds would overflow

You lay there on the ground
Almost ready to give up until you hear a distant sound
The sound of a voice calling your name
After that day you overcame,
overcame the pain and shame
For once you could feel
And your wounds began to heal

You never know you were trapped until you are set free
It's true in life there's only one guarantee
Faith, hope and love
that and knowing there's a God up above
