Can't, Won't, Bang

by StandStill   Jan 25, 2009

I'm so scared of falling flat on my face
with no carbon bubbles left to hold me up
'cause the world's rainin' with sarcasm
and I'm drowning in every drop.

It's funny 'cause I can see candles flickerin'
in the blue of your pretty eyes,
but I can't look for too long...
wouldn't want you to see my heart on my sleeves.

I wrote love with a red pen and scribbled it out,
trying so hard to see the clear way out of the hedge..
the maze is closing in all around me.
How do we get out of this labyrinth?

I fell straight to my knees and cried out
with no answer yet, but it always takes a little while
to make the reverberations of my own voice
come crashing past the crystalline cave walls.

All I know,
'cause it's all I've learned..
I can't keep doing this
alone.
