I Smoke To Die

by StandStill   Jan 29, 2009

The movie theatre taste
is dangling from your lips,
'cause you're buzzing
from the smell of indifference
and the sound of champagne.

You can't swim past the awe
nor the rejection.

And everywhere you look
the pall's closing over your eyes.
Tell me, do they sparkle just a beautifully
under the smog of your lies?
Do they glitter anymore

or do they sleep lackluster
under heavy eyelids
caked with powder.
Take a drag and taste your life
on your lips.
Smile,
'cause you're living just to
die.
