The Hills and Mountains.

by Courageous Dreamer   Jan 31, 2009

Lush green velvet rests upon neatly formed hills,
tall mountains painted by winter's white gift.
Light blue skies fluffy with clouds of various sizes,
hide the luminous golden sun that shines,
eventually peeking through bringing forth light.

Beautiful grass glistens in the morning sun,
as the warmth of the rays spreads throughout,
absorbing what is left of the remaining dew.
Curled leaves of plants awake with a smile,
expanding their wings, welcoming a new day.

I haven't read or commented anything from you in a while, I'm sorry! And as I'm a bit rushed for time, this comment won't be really long but I thought I'd say how I loved your imagery and word choice in this poem, it was really captivating. You've gotten so much better, you can see, you're evolving as a poet and it's brililant.

'tall mountains painted by winter's white gift.'

This is simple but so beautiful, 'gift' is such a great word to describe winter's bestowal of beautiful white upon lush green valleys. I could go through every line and say the same things but I'm not going to, you should be proud of this, really. I'll start reading/commenting your work more often :)
