Empty Me

by Twisted Heart   Feb 6, 2009

As my eyes span the horizon,
pieces of crystal in the sky
Lean down to touch this empty heart
break free my soul they try
As stars drift upon emptiness
somehow they seems to know
Inside this heart is loneliness
bank drifts of winter snow
Where hearts come now into the night
soars high into the bleak
A chance to capture in the past
torn soul that lies in sleep
Along the tide that holds the ebb
a twine so holds my heart
Rips free the end of gentle things
shreds petals torn apart
Somewhere, there in the distance
a plan for bigger things
Perhaps a chance forthcoming
an end to winter brings
But still here in this moment
no end is there to see
Just broken scattered pieces
of a soulless empty me.

What a saddening piece. Yet brilliantly penned as usual.
