Life

by gasping for air   Jun 11, 2004

I feel the wind in my hair,
I smell the fresh summer air,
I hear the crickets chirping.
Sitting here,
Taking in all the sounds of summer,
I can't believe I wanted to end it.
End it all for me,
Make the pain go away,
Stop my heart from hurting.
For so long I wanted to,
I was tired of life,
I thought there was no reason to go on.
But there is,
There's so much to enjoy,
And so many things I have yet to experience.
If I ended it all,
I wouldn't be able to sit,
And enjoy my triumphs.
I realize now,
That if I didn't lose,
My wins wouldn't be so special.

Great poem! nice flow, and awesome content....

I might be readingit wrong...but shouldn't the last line read, "My wins WOULDN'T be so special"?

Hmm...I liked it, it was alright, not one of my favorite of yours, but it was good. You can use words to create pictures in peoples heads, thats a talent that some people don't have. Keep writing, i'll keep reading.

This is a bold effort. You leave things unsaid but clearly suggested, which i love and which 90% of people on this site seem incapable of...not to insult.

    Keep it sweet.
