Without A Fight

by JustKristina   Feb 19, 2009

Barbie dolls,
sandbox,
scraped knee,
chicken pox.

Mommy's kisses,
cupcakes,
waterfights,
mistakes.

Swing sets,
play house,
barney tape,
pet mouse.

Bandaid,
puppy dog,
ABC's,
prince frog.

Growing up,
little girl,
now your life,
begins to whirl.

Take a risk,
fall down,
smiles fade
into a frown.

Heartbreak,
late night,
lost love
big fight.

Give up,
give in.
Thinking hurting
is a sin.

No more.
I quit.
Cannot take,
another hit.

Always wrong
never rigt.
Giving up
without a fight.

    I love this.
I love the flowiness of it,
and how it shows the journey of growing up.

This is gorgeous, love. i love the shortness of the lines just..it flows very well. the beginning made me think of that song that's like "these are a few of my favourite things" and then you slowly watch it grow and transform. which i love, when a poem shows growth and a journey.

you're not always wrong, babes. you're beautiful and smart, and wonderful. and i love you. keep your chin up, krissco. there's something better on it's way, if you wait long enough.
