Cincinnati and You

by BornAgainWriter   Feb 19, 2009

When the world is turned off,
When all of the lights are dim,
I just can't hear anything-
But the deep sound of him.

I'm here with myself and I,
Sitting on my window pane,
Wishing that she didn't die,
I couldn't even explain.

The sun is on the other side,
And I'm gazing at the moon,
I feel my heart beating hard,
Like it's going to explode soon.

When the city bus route ends,
And people are walking home,
I wonder what I'm doing here,
Letting my mind freely roam.

The wind begins to pick up,
And a chills runs through,
Lifting up strands of my hair,
Turning my fingertips blue.

Thoughts of you are endless-
and you are always with me,
Smiling gracefully at the birds,
In the city of Cincinnati.
