Love Casts Its Lustrous Spell.

by Courageous Dreamer   Feb 20, 2009

Note; not what I'm feeling. not real.

Lost in the immediate charm of your presence,
mesmerized by the beauty of hypnotic eyes,
inhaling your cologne that lingers in the air,
tasting each word spoken by delicate lips
so sweet, refreshing this empty forlorn soul.

Instantly whisked away to a dreamland unknown,
vivid wishful desires become etched into mind,
love casts its lustrous spell causing me to trip
head over heels into the arms of comfort,
heart flutters as butterflies swirl gracefully.

Why do you always put a note that says its not what you're feeling? I don't see the point to it...Anyway.

I really liked your title. It captured my attention and had me wanting to read more. I loved the alliteration with "love" and "lustrous" It sounded so poetic when I read it out loud and it just flowed freely off my tongue.

"vivid wishful desires become etched into mind"
^I think my mind would sound better here.

Overall the poem was beautiful in describing the process of falling for someone. From being lost in their eyes to wanting to see their smile everyday. Every first stage of love consists of these emotions where you feel high in their presence and the butterflie fluttering your your stomache. I like the lightheartedness of this piece and it just made me smile throughout even though I think it borderlined cliche. Nonetheless your words were beautiful and this was just all together a feel good piece to read.

    Well done!
    *5/5* :]
