Eternal Angel

by isabel   Feb 25, 2009

The sound of laughter echoed through the night
Fading in the serene wind, as leaves begin to fall
Rising from the shadows, a soft and desiring call
A beauty beyond imagination is pursuing my sight

I thought it could be an angel, dancing in a cloud
He walked twice as gracefully, into my direction
We stood still by a river, designing our reflection
I whispered gently, never daring to speak loud

Your sweet devotion purified my shattered heart
When I see the shine in your eyes, I rejoice
The moon kisses the earth, listening to your voice
The creation of your holy existence is pure art

Alas, my love, I will never be able to stop time
And hold you in my arms until the world's end
Until our souls fall apart, maybe we can pretend
That eternity will favour a paradise, so sublime

This poem was so beautifully written. The imagery was superb and the flow gently laid the reader amongst the words and emotion of the poem. The best part is that it captures the feeling bliss that love can give. Great write.

I loved this piece. I have no certain critiques on any of them. Here is just an overall critique:
Word choice was phenomenal. I felt like I was there. And it was so flowy and beautiful. I just loved it.
The "alas my love..." part just caught my attention. It's been heard before but it's still very unique and original nice job.
The imagery. How do I sum it up, it took me into your mind and I loved it!
