One Day

by DoubtTheSinner   Feb 25, 2009

You can go back to sleep and prevent the world from killing you. How many minutes can pass on the grandfather clock before I get up and step one moment closer to you?

You can go back to writing your songs and making me guess what you are thinking. But how many lines can you possibly write before you fall again on all the feelings you have wasted away on?

You can go back to looking at the dripping canvas on your wall and burn the holes into the walls for you to look from. And I`ll just sit on your bed, asking the question too short to hear

You can go back to staring and pleading for strangers to find a home that`s lost in their eyes. Just go blind and I won`t help guide you for the stairs

You can go back to telling stories that no one will believe, but have a great time stealing away on the real truth. Go ahead, and write stories in your head. I dare you

You can go back to where the promise never happened and breaking what I had to fix over and over again. But sometimes, some things do not want to be fixed.

You can go back and redo all the damaged you wanted, to give back everything that you toke away. But that day is one step too far
