Headlights

by Liz   Feb 27, 2009

Lost to the headlights
of the other drivers van
colliding at perfect timing
as if it were a plan
she lay there in the street
vision blurry from the glare
of those headlights gleaming bright
illuminating dusty air

She tries to make a sound
but no one seems to hear
she listens in the chaos
but silence is all that's clear
a tear rolls down her face
for she never said goodbye
to all the ones she loved
who made a difference in her life

Now she's fading fast
and she hopes to god they know
that her memories will always stay
although it is her time to go
she feels the rain begin to fall
as she takes her one last breath
and then so softly her eyes close
in an unexpected death

Very pretty in a sad sort of way. makes me think to appreciate the people in life and let them know you love them and who it is who is special to you becuase you enver know when you may go.
the last two lines of the first section and the last two of the second were really nice to me, very pretty, as i said, pretty in a sad way. good job.
