Natasha

Natasha

So many years have passed us by
Itâ??s nearly time to say goodbye
Born to us, you were our first
Angels sang upon your birth

You started life as a daddy's girl
You ran around always in a whirl
The sweetest child you've ever seen
The purest pleasure in my life you've been

The funniest things you used to say
A sweet little girl with your own little ways
Your pretty little dresses, oh how you'd twirl
Your hair all long, in ribbons and curls

Then your teen years came around one day
You discovered rock n roll music and mom's hairspray
Black makeup, high heeled boots and studs of chrome
Your fearsome image was betrayed at home

Your tough girl image didn't fool us
Still the same sweet little girl, just more grown up
One of the prettiest young women that I have known
I still struggle to believe that you're my very own

Today my girl you turn twenty one
I guess some would say that our job is done
You'll always be our little girl
When times are tough, you'll know where to turn

So Natasha may God bless you and keep you
Safe from all harm in everything that you do
May your dreams for yourself all come true
May you experience love in all forms, in all that you do

All our love mom and dad

This is a very nice poem dedication to your daughter. Though I think you have presented the poem well from a father's point of view. Though they have areadly reached adulthood, they will forever be your lil angel you once carried in your arms. I love the way you end this poem, though it's hard to let her go but u still wish her all the best cause you know that it's time for her to spread her wings and fly.It was certainly a delightful to read, im sure your daughter would love this poem and would carry with her wherever she goes.

    Excellent Job

How endearing and sweet this dedication is, Grant:)
I always wondered how it would be to have a little girl, I probably would have spoiled her silly, he he.
Reading your verse, I believe this must be a very beautiful and sweet girl:)
    Congrats on her birthday!

    *hugs*

Awww! This was so sweet. Its interesting to see a girl growing up through her fathers eyes. All the different stages that you see.
You have perfected this poem, with exactly the right amount of humour and love. I really enjoyed reading it.
