Wake Me Up From This Dream

by BornAgainWriter   Mar 5, 2009

Fifty thousand tears that I have cried for you,
And you don't even appreciate a single one,
All the thoughts that I ponder about all day,
You don't even like my most favorite one.

I'm falling under the cracks of the wooden floor,
With nothing to hold onto; no one to help me,
Am I dreaming? Wake me up inside; wake me,
I can't wake up, save me from what I've done.

I've become nothing in this sorry excuse for a world,
I'm different; you've never seen anything like me,
I'm this dark entity that walks the grave yards,
I've become something that feels so coldly.

I'm falling under the cracks of the wooden floor,
With nothing to hold onto; no one to help me,
Am I dreaming? Wake me up inside; wake me,
I can't wake up, safe me from what I've done.

I'm standing in the rain waiting for you,
Like I've always done throughout our life together,
Waiting for you; waiting for you not to show up,
You're dagging at my heart with your dagger.

I'm falling under the cracks of the wooden floor,
With nothing to hold onto; no one to help me,
Am I dreaming? Wake me up inside; wake me,
I can't wake up, safe me from what I've done.

There is so much that time cannot erase,
I fought for you; and I held your hand,
I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone,
I wanted it to work for the unplanned.

Amazing poem! With so much of feeling and still capturing the sadness like an intriquing piece of art that captures the attention of another straight from the start.
I loved the repetition btw although most ppl seem to despise this. None the less it was a great write and the flow superbly met with every expectations.
    5/5 from Ash! :)
