This Man

by Jenna Rose Kat   Mar 8, 2009

I once met a man who I've never seen,
But this man was ever so fond of me.

And now he's gone, but his soul lives within,
Inside my heart, deeper than sin.

I've been sitting here, on this long, dark night,
Watching the black birds fly over the light.

All I can do is whisper to the roses,
Hoping they don't think my words as proses.

I smile to myself because of you,
For all of the great things you used to do.

I look up in the sky, watching the birds,
And I find myself stumbling over words.

I saw your dark face, looking down on me,
Making sure that I have moved on to see.

I know your love lives on because of me,
Because I have never forgotten you.
