Severed Wings

by Katy Nicholson   Mar 11, 2009

As gaurdians of heaven
They are creatures of the afterlife
Angels hung by severed wings;
Shedding tears of crimson

As these eyes swell with blood
It stains broken skin of porcelain
Something once so flawless;
Fades to erasable hate

As a thorned halo resembles
It's then crowned apon thy head
Gifted, you're re-born;
Speaking "Lady of the Dead"

And after images of pain
Have remarked you as unknown
I shall kiss every scar and weep;
You are not alone

Unable to see the light
They are bound by something dark
It screams within your thoughts
And it wraps around your heart
