Flames

The house was covered,
In thick black smoke,
It filled my lungs,
As I began to choke..
I crawled to the door,
But it wouldnt open,
Trapped..
All I could do was hope and,
Pray to god that Ill survive,
But I was nowhere close,
To feeling alive..
The flames scorched,
My burning skin,
I shut my eyes,
And thought of the happiness within..
I slowly fell to an unconscious state,
Knowing its over,
That this was my fate..
