Why A Lost Friendship?

by BornAgainWriter   Mar 19, 2009

When your words slip out onto line paper,
They seem to be a little different then texting,
I wonder why that is, it makes no sense at all,
I think you're trying to manipulate the situation.

Probably so you don't have to take a fault here,
It's okay, I'll take the fault, maybe I did something-
You didn't like, but just never opened your mouth,
So, I'm sorry I even motivated you to write a poem to me.

Yeah, that's right I read it, over and over again,
Asking what the heck is she talking about, I get it,
She read the poem I wrote to somewhat feel better,
Feel better inside, not to belittle you in anyway, "Hun".

It seems like you have made up your mind, right?
It's officially a "Lost Friendship" according to you,
But don't ever tell me or anyone else you talk to,
That I ended the journey of our friendship, dear.

I'm glad that God is watching over you, I think it's good,
Because sometimes people need it more than others,
But in the end, we get the same kind of attention;
In the end, we're going to slap ourselves in the face.

You damn well know exactly what I'm capable of,
I can be a friend, and I can be a worst enemy,
But either or, that is totally up to the other person,
A hundred percent, don't act like you didn't know that.

I remember those nights, very late at night, indeed,
I will never forget those nights, or a person like you,
With good intentions, very good ones, I know this,
But, I guess we just like to drop F bombs and argue.

I guess you're right about about one thing, you know,
Trying to maintain to a friendship like ours,
But our friendship isn't anywhere close; beyond close,
To what the word friendship portrays my dear one.

Once again, I am truly sorry for offending you, or-
Making you upset somehow, but that wasn't my intention,
And I think deep down inside, you know that,
If you don't I did a horrible job explaining myself.

Day one of our friendship.
