Shades of a Whale

by StandStill   Apr 1, 2009

Sadness is splattered on the wall
alternating swirls of
a deeper shade of melancholy
and the shimmers of a pathetic cry.
Sometimes the hunks of
plaster and memories
creep closer
and closer.
I feel like I'm swimming
beneath a concrete wave,
the blues melding into a convex.
They bulge forth
and touch my everything.
I feel naked.
I feel ashamed.
And then, I feel nothing
as the complexity of it all
swallows me whole.

----
thought of the first few lines during drama today because the flats have swirls of blue all over them.
