A Heart So True

by Nic39uy   Apr 16, 2009

Calmly playing the piano
She knew the song by heart
Watching from a far as everyone
Eyes was focused on her

A seat was reserved for me
In the front row where I was
Suppose to be when she played
But I couldn't dare seat in front

To be precise I had no right
After what had happen that day
An argument that broke all ties
Between the two of us

Knew if I sat in front,
It would only lead to more tears
And cause her more misery
But knew she wanted me there regardless

After the recital was over
I went on stage and played the song
That she loved so much
Not knowing she was behind me listening

Startled as she sat down next to me,
Smiling at me as I gave her the
Eleven white roses and one blue rose in the middle
With the note: Out of the entire bunch I only love you.

As I was taking leave, she grabbed my shirt
Asking me to stay for a little longer
Couldn't refuse her request
Just one of my weaknesses she knew

Sat there, reminiscing how we fell in love
And how we were so close to being together forever
But this happy ending wouldn't happen
For my love for you wasn't true enough

Placing the ring on the piano
Told you that it was better off this way
Rather you be with someone who can make you smile
And bring out the true beauty within you

As I walked away, the damn that
Held back her tears finally gave out
A painful sight that I had to endure
But knew I couldn't turn back now

Because as I walked away her fiance
Walked past me to comfort her
She had an arranged marriage
Which she never told me until yesterday...
