Black Hole.

My teacher gave us three poem titles to choose two from, and we had to write a poem based on the title.

I am filled with a black hole-
It really isn't that bad.
Sure, I can't laugh or smile,
But at least I don't feel sad.

So for now, please, leave me be.
At the moment, I feel content-
I feel numb inside right now,
So there's no room for torment.

I'll mutely go through the days
Without shedding a single tear-
Because I don't feel sad inside,
I have no reason to fear.

The black hole sucks up all the hurt
That I'm supposed to feel-
Things that would make me cry,
Things that I would hope weren't real.

Thank heavens for this black hole
Because my soul is shattered,
And there is also my poor heart,
Which is broken, beat, and battered.

I am thankful for this black hole-
For it is helping me,
By numbing my heart and soul,
And ending the pain...finally.
