Searching

by Valerie   May 12, 2009

I looked all over and under
Walked through rain and thunder
Went from house to house, door to door
Searching and searching like never before.

I looked in my closet and under my bed
Went to the yard and looked in the shed
I continued to search back in the house
I even asked my cat and her mouse.

I searched in every room and the attic
Now I'm really becoming dramatic
I can't find you no matter how hard I try
I can't lose you, I can't say goodbye.

But I know who to blame for this mess
Once certain boy that caused all this stress
I'll continue to search until I find
I won't give up 'til I lose my mind.

I have searched my house and my car
Looked in every place near and far
All the places you might be
But my searches came up empty.

I have flipped through every book
To give me hints where to look
I've gone through every library shelf
In desperate help to find myself.

If you notice I'm not at home
You can find me where I roam
Search for me there and help me look
For the other part of me he took.

The chance of finding me is slim
Because a part of me he took with him
So if he ever lets me go
Please be kind and let me know.

I must find me, I can't go on
I will search from dusk to dawn
In the empty streets I will call my name
Til I find me, I won't be the same.

So help me look 'cause if you do
This part of me won't be so blue.
Was this voluntary or maybe theft?
What was the reason why I left?

I could feel myself slipping away
But I never thought I would see the day
Where a part of me would up and leave
And this pain only you can relieve.

I know that you belong with me
It's too bad that you can't see
That letting you go really hurt.
You're the cause for this Amber Alert.

This is good! I like the you-I transition.
