Lyrics

by emily mackay   May 12, 2009

Carved into a circle
Shyly deemed in its place
Words dotted
Across my swollen face

Torn into pieces
Of which mark the day
Streams of tears
Im a candle burning away

Slithers tearing deeply
Converting each gap
My mind overloading
Like lines on a road map

Broken branches fall fastly
Screaming with tension
Trying to speak calmly
But about what I cant mention

Touching my knuckles
Feeling them inflame
My eyes widely open
To see scars of shame

Icebreaking nightmares
That haunts me till Im awake
The fear in my expression
This time I cannot fake

Bones feel the coldness
Of dripping rain that slows
Withdrawn from the world
Of hurt that no one knows

Stars are meant to shine
And leave patterns on the walls
They will stay very still
Even when morning falls

A bit like me
It never goes away
This heartache thats beating me
Is speechless for me to say

But battered through everything
With the imprint so strong
I sit here full of emptiness
Wondering where the lyrics have gone

This was creatively written, while because of it's length my attention wavered as I read through it, it was still absolutely beautiful. Dark, deep with clever metaphors and well placed adjectives. Another fantastic write. 5/5
