Take Me Away~Rondelet

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 10, 2009

Take me away,
From this awful world I live in,
Take me away,
Where no child will be astray.
Unfailing love will conquer sin,
Let timeless forgiveness begin,
Take me away.

The Rondelet is a French form that consists of a single septet with two rhymes and one refrain: AbAabbA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats. The refrain is written in tetra-syllabic or dimeter and other lines are twice as long- octasyllabic or tetrameter.

Aha, you want to be taken to paradise?

Well, you are still very young MaryAnne, I hope it will be a long, long time until you return home to the heavens:)

I like the poem, good wording and a message this reader certainly can relate to;)
