The Life of A Tree

As life changes who you are
And alters what you could be
Remember this lesson in your head
And think of the life of a tree

The first step is to plant the seed
Make sure it gets water and Sun
Give it your love and you will see
It'll grow unlike any other one

The next step: an important one
Is to be patient as one can be
For it will take time as with anything
Before the first stem you see

The step after that: watching it grow
All the while continue the care
Not long ago, an empty space
And now a tree grows there

You see my friend
Life is like this
It's similar to that of a tree

The stages and steps
Are good ways to describe
The life of you and me

Like a tree
Each one of us
Needs love and care to grow

And the older we get
The better we are
The history our lives will show

So as you travel
Through this life we live
Remember this lesson well

Like the lines on a tree
The years of our lives
We all have a story to tell
