Unexpected News

As I was told the news I wanted to cry
holding it in and just asked why
when she told me the reason
thinking it was me
alone and broken hearted
was all I could see
she said it was happiness
missing in her life
I thought I did all I could
but ask her to be my wife
as she explained her reasoning
lying on the bed
I held her close as I said
If happiness is far away
and not hear with me
then you should go
and find what you need
when I think of life without her
and how it will be
I only hope
that she will find her happiness
between the moon and the sea
