Once Begun, There Is No End

by Stacie   Jul 20, 2009

I find it difficult to breathe
when you`re not nearby
to pollute the air with velvet
sentences of love.

Intricately woven are your
words, intended to dominate-
to enthrall all who hear (listen);
they never, ever, fail.

Once one grasps that you speak
only in deceit, not a syllable of truth,
they have already begun to believe-
once begun, there is no end.

The curve of your smiling lips
remains embedded on the brain-
Why does the recollection linger;
your scent, the feel of your touch?

Time fades all memories-
but not ones of you. Why?
Questions are futile now,
as is any love from me to you.

Yes, I listened, believed you.
No, I won’t get over my love.
I know- this began so long ago…
Once begun, there is no end.
