You're No Longer My Priority, Dear

by TGR   Sep 1, 2009

Biting tongues,
Crossing fingers,
Glancing away.
It's all the same,
Just a lie to my face.
Be honest, will you?
There are more important things to do.

Afraid to hurt me,
Don't worry, Dear,
I don't care.
I won't hurt,
There are more important things to do.

Fighting feelings isn't healthy,
Just leave me, will you?
I don't care one way or the other,
There are more important things to do.

Take down your sugar smile,
I don't like candy.
Stop faking,
It's only worse this way.
Just leave, I know you want to.
Stop worrying,
There are more important things to do.

Your guilt doesn't make you a saint,
Stop using it as a cover.
Tell me how you feel,
Don't hold it all in,
There are more important things to do.

I won't try to fix this if I don't know what to fix.
I wouldn't even if I knew.
You kept it too long,
It's Never Too Late simply isn't true.
Just show your discomfort
I'm tired of not knowing,
There are more important things to do.

You've always done me wrong,
I've always forgiven you,
But not anymore,
For there are more important things to do.
