Don't Forget

by Oguz kaan   Sep 13, 2009

Do you know what it is like to be sleepless
Did you ever tear apart the pillow with your nails
Did you ever direct your eyes to the ceiling and
Think all night
And did you ever wait whole day
With the hope that the one you wait for may come
When nobody came,
Nobody called you
Did you cry to death
Then, drawing back to the darkest of lonelinesses,
Did you remember one by one
Whatever you have left belonging to your love

Do you know how it is to melt day by day
To die with the pride of a giant tree
To look for a consolation?
Heading to the roads, your mind clouded
In the solitary parks, deserted streets
And with the whole city is sleeping in the distants
Did you ever feel thrown away
Like an aged dog,
Like an old shirt?
Did your whole body get tired
From walking day and night,
From love?

Do you know the pain of loneliness?
Was the feeling of being forgotten ever stuck at your back like a sharp knife?
Did the poisonous flowers of jealousy blossom inside you?
Suppressing all your pride,
Did you bend and kiss the earth
On the roads your love walked through?
Do you know what it is like to be desperate?
Did you ever see absence?
Did you feel like
Crushing your burning head by hitting it to the walls?
Did you die a thousand times every day?

Don't condemn me because I am like this.
If I let myself go one day
Into the deepness of eternity
Like a wounded and beaten soldier
Don't reprove me.
Don't forget that
Every lover is a nameless hero
Don't forget that
You are as human as you can love.
