Prisoner in my Head

by ibelievedhim   Sep 16, 2009

If it's not over, why do I scream?
Floating through the never ending dream
Daggers piercing through my heart
Treacherous betrayal ripping apart

If I open my eyes, I can see the mist clear
And all of my "friends" are standing here
Weapons at the ready as I fall to my knees
Look into the eyes of those who gave me the disease

Not one hand seeks mine in my watery grave
Tears I can't explain, I've become life's slave
No death, no freedom, only shackles I'm bound
Lips sewn shut, my voice the dreaded sound

If I speak, traders fear lies will be revealed
Doors long shut won't forever remain sealed
Words blur across the page as I write this in bed
Screams go unheard; I'm a prisoner in my head
