Listen

*to be read allowed*

I have a voice,
I have something to say,
you listen.

Listen to the words that I am saying, to you.

Listen! Don't just sit there staring at my mouth waiting for this so called poem to finish.

Listen, listen.

Listen as I tell you that everybody has a voice that CAN'T be silenced.

Listen while I say, that even though I stand here alone, I am speaking for those who can't. So you will
listen, and if not to me, to them.

Listen to the mother who can't feed her child on a GOOD day.

Listen to the fathers, the brothers, the sons, the lovers, the sisters, the mothers, the wives, who are all crying out for an end to the pointless war that's destroying and poisoning all of their lives.

Listen

Listen to the doctors in the third world countries who would be able to save their dying patients if medical supplies get delivered, on time.

Listen

Listen to those who try to make a difference by pay twice as much for a single pair of shoes, so that a poor child can get free ones.
Yea! I went there

Listen to those whose actions speak louder than their words ever could.

Listen to THEM as they beg you unsuccessfully to drop your selfishness and attain some selflessness.

Listen

Listen to them, to the doctors, the defenders, the prosecutors and pretenders. To the gardeners, the pardoners, the summoners, and the stoners.

Listen to the hobos, the homos, the alones, and college no gos, to the drinkers, free thinkers, to the ones who are told they have NOTHING to say.

Listen

Listen, you don't have to obey. Just
listen, and remember, we all have a voice, we all have a choice/ no a right, a right to speak the wants, the wrongs, the hopes, the needs, the dreams, AND the fears. But you gotta

Listen

Listen

listen now.
