Flat Line

by Shaina Ahenger   Nov 3, 2009

I hear your heart beat,
But do you feel?
Do you love?
Are you even real?

That make up covered face,
Shows no reflection in the mirror.
Its lost, unlike your ego,
You soon will pay for it, my dear.

When you awake one morning,
You'll realize, No one is there.
It will be like your soul,
Effortless and bare.

So sweet dreams dear friend,
In this dark abyss you will discover,
No dream catcher to save you,
And no secrets to uncover.

Your nightmare awaits you,
To watch you plummet to your doom.
The life you have chosen,
Has left you alone, in gloom

Your grave has been filled,
With your uncaring actions.
Soon everyone will laugh at you,
In your circus of fatal attractions.

Will anyone be impressed now?
Will you have any real friends by your side?
If you answered yes, just keep telling yourself that,
That's exactly what you need, more pride.

You will burn in your own flame,
You created this lie,
This lie you call yourself,
So this my friend, is truly goodbye.
