Closer to the big forty...

As I get closer to the big forty,
there is a part of me wants to be a little naughty.
Only thing is my old man won't allow me to,
for I have to do what he wants me to do.
I want to have friends and with them go out,
turn up my favorite music and dance about.
I'd like to have a laugh and some fun,
not just be a housewife and a mum.
The kids are growing up and soon they'll leave me,
and on my own with the old man I will be.
The thought I have to say scares me a bit,
just growing old with him and on the sofa each night we'll sit.

    You have penned your feelings very well. I can understand exactly how you feel!!

    It must be difficult to have a partner who feels you cannot enjoy life and have fun.

    Hopfully one day the music will be loud, and the dancing will bring a smile to your face like never before!!!! Although , when i turned 40 i was dancing in the living room and one of my daughters told me to stop before i broke a hip!! giggggles
